AIL Sound Walls chosen for NA30 Valleyfield, QC highway project

AIL is pleased to announce that lightweight, durable and easy-to-install AIL Sound Walls were selected as the engineered sound mitigation solution for the new Highway 30 project in Valleyfield.

AIL’s integrated engineering and manufacturing solution uses our Silent Protector (Absorptive) and Tuf-Barrier (Reflective) Systems made from durable PVC with an acoustical mineral wool filling. Now completed, the walls protect neighborhoods along a 4.5 km stretch of highway.

AIL Sound Walls are approved by the MTQ and this was the first installation in the province. We are proud to contribute to the well-being of the neighboring communities with an economical and environmentally friendly solution.

    A new Richmond neighborhood bordered BC’s busy Highway 91 and an effective sound mitigation solution was needed. But, there were just two problems. The site, between the highway and a steep drop off to a parking lot below, was extremely narrow. And, it could only accommodate a 2' footing depth due to a buried membrane covering contaminated soils.
