AIL Sound Walls’ VISIA Transparent Acrylic Panels brighten up doggie daycare enclosure
This project for a doggie daycare exercise yard in Ontario demonstrates how our noise control solutions can be customized to balance performance requirements with stakeholder needs. Three AIL Sound Walls’ products were combined in one noise barrier wall to address acoustic performance, site functionality, community concerns and ongoing maintenance. By integrating Silent Protector (Absorptive) Panels, VISIA Transparent Acrylic Panels and Tuf-Barrier (Reflective) Panels into one solution, we delivered an effective noise barrier wall while addressing these factors.

A nearby resident expressed concern that a traditional opaque barrier would block daylight from reaching her yard; the project also required coordination with municipal requirements, including a noise study and fence variance approval.
Clear panels also helped address neighbor’s concerns
The AIL Sound Walls team collaborated closely with our project partners to develop this multi-product solution:
- VISIA Transparent Acrylic Panels were incorporated to maintain clear sightlines and allow natural light to pass through the wall, addressing the neighbor’s concerns.
- Silent Protector (Absorptive) Panels were used for most of the wall to meet acoustic performance requirements.
- Tuf-Barrier (Reflective) Panels were used in the lower portions of the wall providing added durability and ease of maintenance.

Proactive communication, accurate drawings and close coordination with all stakeholders were key to maintaining the schedule and budget, while also supporting positive community relations. Material lead times were clearly communicated, approvals were tracked closely and ongoing collaboration helped prevent delays or scope changes.
The customer was very pleased with the outcome, appreciating the on-time delivery of materials, easy installation and our on-site assistance. Kudos to the contractor, Premier Fence, for a job well done. We’d also like to give a shout-out to the Acoustic Consultant, SS Wilson Associates, and the Architect, VGA & Associates, for their roles in the success of this project.
