AIL Sound Walls are ideal for airport noise mitigation
Although the main objective on this project was to make a visual separation between the Aéroport de Drummondville and the surrounding homes, nobody was complaining when they realized what a great sound barrier the “new fence” around the Aéroport was. That’s because this handsome “new fence” was actually an AIL Sound Wall.
Our lightweight, easy-to-install AIL Sound Walls are engineered for maximum sound reduction of environmental or ambient noise such as traffic, manufacturing, industrial or commercial noise and even airports!
In fact, AIL Sound Walls were previously installed at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport to provide an effective sound mitigation solution for its residential neighbors on Toronto Island.
Design incorporated single man door and double vehicular doors
This project required us to incorporate a single man door and a set of double doors for vehicular access. Not a problem for the flexible AIL Sound Walls system. Our in-house engineering team quickly came up with a suitable solution for our fabrication team to execute.
Time was of the essence on this late fall project and we were challenged to deliver before the onset of winter. To comply with the tight schedule, we delivered the foundation components early while the post and panels were still being fabricated. Good communication between the project partners was key to meeting the timeline and budget.
