The Winston Churchill Power Centre in Mississauga recently installed two large AIL Sound Walls to mitigate noise from two loading docks adjacent to a townhome development.
Double-sided protection
One of the walls, for a RONA Building Centre, required sound absorption on both sides of the wall — on the dock side to control truck engine and loading noise, and on the outer alley side to absorb traffic noise along the back of the building.
A double-sided Silent Protector (Absoptive) solution
For the RONA application, we used our larger, double-channel steel posts, flange-mounted in a continuous concrete footing with the Silent-Protector panels placed back to back in each channel. The other application for a grocery store (below) did not require the sound absorption on the outer side.
An industry leader in commercial sound mitigation
With their lightweight PVC construction and design flexibility, AIL Sound Walls are seeing increased use in commercial developments looking to control noise with economical and versatile sound barriers for:
- Big Box Stores
- Hospitals
- Residential Developments
- Distribution Facilities
- Mechanical Barriers
- Rooftop System Surrounds
- Loading and Unloading Docks
