In addition to the L200 Lynnwood Link Extension, the AIL Sound Walls Team is very pleased to have also been selected to provide sound barrier wall solutions for Sound Transit’s 3.7-mile L300 Lynnwood Link Extension, building on our successful Value Engineering presentation that swayed the owner off their previous 4′ metal panel Acoustic Spec.
This project was carried out in conjunction with our L200 project and also included both elevated guideway and MSE retaining wall mounted applications with our lightweight PVC systems on an 8′ stanchion spacing.
LRT project used both Absorptive and Reflective sound barrier walls
Like the L200 project, this project used our Silent Protector (Absorptive) system on the elevated guideways and our Tuf-Barrier (Reflective) system on the MSE retaining walls. Unlike the L200 project — where we were partnered directly with the Joint Venture team who did their own install — L300 had us working with a design-build general contractor, Skanska, and their subcontractor, KT Contracting Company, Inc.
Like the L200 project team, Skanska and KT were equally pleased with the speed and versatility of installing our products with the support of our layout drawings and site assistance. We also followed a similar process of staging the material deliveries in lock-step with the construction sequence. This project also included the supply of transparent acrylic panels for the Mountlake Terrace Station.
In addition to the L200 and L300 Lynnwood Link Extensions, AIL Sound Walls is also supplying sound barrier wall solutions for the F200 Federal Way Link Extension.
