Cell towers are everywhere it seems, and they are noisy, especially the closer you get to the equipment at ground level. Surprisingly, this four-sided equipment enclosure for AT&T in Manteca, CA, is one of AIL Sound Walls’ first cell tower projects.
Using our Silent Protector (Absorptive) panels, this 6′ x 96′ enclosure greatly decreases the noise coming from the electrical equipment inside. The versatility of our lightweight PVC noise barrier wall system was evident in how easily gates, fans and utility ports were accommodated in this four-sided enclosure with a double gate.
The State of California has many laws that make it tricky to get the correct permits to get these walls approved. We worked closely with our project partner, Jed Freitas from Mod-G Systems, to help push this project through and get it approved.
The enclosure, with panels featuring our embossed woodgrain finish in a tan color, came together nicely and positive feedback was received from our project partners.
We have several Telecom projects in the works with Mod-G Systems. We had a recent install in Davis, CA, and we have more in the engineering stage preparing to move into construction. In addition, we received a go-ahead on an East Coast project with T-Mobile and American Tower Corporation in PA.
One of the industry’s top-performing sound barrier walls
Our Silent Protector sound absorption wall panels are engineered for maximum noise reduction. Made from recycled and recyclable perforated PVC panels and filled with acoustical mineral wool, Silent Protector is one of the industry’s top-performing sound walls, with a Sound Transmission Class (STC) rating of up to 39 and a Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) of 0.95.
