With its focus on healthy eating, zero waste and giving back to communities, Sprouts Farmers Market is one of the fastest growing retailers in the US, with over 350 stores in 23 states. So it was good news for local residents when Sprouts opened one of their newest locations on Santa Barbara’s Eastside.
It was also good news that the new Sprouts store used AIL Sound Walls to absorb unwanted noise from its rooftop mechanical systems. Made from recycled and recyclable PVC, lightweight AIL Sound Walls have a smaller carbon footprint than other sound walls. They are also long-lasting and low-maintenance.
Rooftop noise barrier mounted to retrofitted, wood-framed building
This Sprouts location was a retrofit of an existing wood-framed building and one of our challenges was to integrate our Silent Protector sound barrier wall system with the building’s frame. Extra care had to be taken to coordinate our attachment method and sound barrier layout with the architect, engineer and contractor. Several productive conference calls later, we had a very workable plan.
The rooftop sound barrier walls were one of the last items to be installed, and we had to rush/expedite manufacturing and shipping to meet their schedule so the store could open on time. Positive post-project feedback was received from the contractor and owner.
Absorptive sound mitigation for generator enclosures and other applications
With their perforated absorptive panels and construction versatility in small spaces, Silent Protector is the go-to sound barrier solution for the toughest sound mitigation jobs like railway noise barrier fences and noisy generator surrounds or other equipment surrounds.
