When a new Starbucks went up next to an apartment building in a growing area of Winnipeg, Manitoba, ground-floor residents were concerned about the noise from drive-thru customers ordering their Triple, Grande, Half-Sweet, Non-Fat, Caramel Macchiatos. Clearly, an effective sound barrier was on the menu.
Starbucks was looking for an affordable and easy-to-install option for this very narrow site that would provide maximum sound mitigation and also be aesthetically pleasing. Not a Tall order for the Silent-Protector (Absorptive) solution from AIL Sound Walls.
Drive-thru remained open throughout noise barrier wall installation
AIL Sound Walls are made from lightweight PVC and go up extremely fast with no crane or heavy-lifting equipment. This project was completed in just three days with the drive-thru remaining open, throughout.
The new sound barrier replaced sections of (and tied into) an existing wooden perimeter fence. The same contractor who built the wooden fence installed our sound barrier so they were already familiar with the fence and the limited-access site.
Silent Protector is one of the industry’s top performers
When dealing with environmental or ambient noise such as traffic, manufacturing and commercial retail noise, AIL’s Silent Protector sound barrier wall system provides optimum performance. Constructed with acoustical mineral wool, Silent Protector is one of the industry’s top-performers.
It seems the new sound barrier is doing its job, as nobody from the apartment building has been over to Venti about the noise since it was installed.
