Wawa is a chain of over 1,110 gas bar / convenience store operations located across 11 states in the Eastern US. When the project team developing a new location on Route 70 in Brick, NJ, needed an efficient noise mitigation solution for the drive-thru lane, they selected a lightweight and easy-to-install Tuf-Barrier (Reflective) system from AIL Sound Walls.
The wall had some grade change along the run, and we had to coordinate closely with our project partners to design an aesthetically pleasing wall with a smooth install.
Contractor looking forward to doing more work with AIL Sound Walls
This project had a longer-term development cycle before we actually received the order. We supported the owner and Maser Consulting on the front end to help them get zoning approval for the project. It took some time for the project to move to construction with the General Contractor, A to Z Site Contractors, originally having the noise barrier wall in their scope before deciding to sub it out it to the specialists at Progressive Fence.
The project rolled along smoothly, and we were able to stay on schedule and on budget. We received positive feedback from both the owner and Progressive Fence, whose representatives were very pleased with the ease of install and were looking forward to doing more work with AIL Sound Walls.
Drive-thru lanes are a growing application focus for AIL Sound Walls with many installations to date for chains like Wawa, Starbucks, McDonald’s, Chick-Fil-A and Tim Hortons.
